The Local Government Electoral Act 2011 prohibits political donations from property developers and any industry representative organisation whose members are mainly property developers (or others on their behalf) to sitting councillors, candidates, political parties, groups of candidates and third parties to local government elections. Soliciting other persons by prohibited donors (or others on their behalf) to make political donations is also prohibited.
Acceptance of any contribution, gift or grant is at the discretion of the candidate, Michael Kerr. The candidate, Michael Kerr, will not accept any gift unless it can be used or expended consistently with the purpose of the election campaign and must be able to legally receive this donation from a person who is not prohibited to do so.
The candidate, Michael Kerr, will accept donations of cash amounts via electronic payment so a record of the transaction can be kept. Amounts over $500 or to the total of $500 will be reported to the appropriate government agencies as described in the Electoral Donation Requirements.
Gifts of in-kind services will be accepted at the discretion of the candidate Michael Kerr.
The candidate, Michael Kerr, will provide acknowledgements to donors of donations received.
The candidate, Michael Kerr, will respect the intent of the gifts for restricted purposes of the election campaign.
IT IS THE CANDIDATE’S FULL INTENTION TO ABIDE BY THE RULES SET FOR DONATIONS AND NO DONATIONS FROM PROHIBITED PERSONS OR A PERSON SOLICITED TO DONATE ON THEIR BEHALF WILL BE ACCEPTED.
